Participant agreement
Every participant signs an agreement and assumption-of-risk waiver before arrival. It is being drafted by a Michigan attorney and will be published here in full before any booking opens.
Status
The agreement is not final. Booking will not open until it is, and the complete text will be on this page so you can read it before you pay a deposit. Nobody will be handed a waiver for the first time on a Monday afternoon.
What it will cover, in plain terms
- What you’re doing. Construction and trades work with hand tools, power tools, electricity, open flame, ladders, and heavy materials, outdoors, on a rural property.
- The risks. This work can injure you, and no amount of supervision makes it risk-free. You’ll be asked to acknowledge that specifically, not in general terms.
- Your responsibilities. Follow the safety brief, wear the protective equipment, work sober, tell us about medical conditions that matter, and stop when told to stop.
- Our responsibilities. Competent instruction, maintained tools, supplied safety equipment, and a site that is as safe as a build site can be made.
- Medical. Distance to emergency care, consent to first aid and emergency transport, and your own health coverage.
- Photos. Whether we may use photographs you appear in. You will be able to say no.
Who must sign
Every participant, individually. Adults only, 18 and over. A signed agreement is required before arrival, and it is stated on the booking page for every date.
