Curriculum
Every session produces a permanent installation, puts every tool in every participant's hands, and teaches the permits along with the pipe. Each card says plainly whether the session is scheduled, planned, or still in development.
Session 01
Design, install, and commission an off-grid solar and battery system that actually carries a load.
Session 02
Get water out of the ground, into the building, around the property, and safely away again.
Session 03
Frame it, roof it, seal it, and heat it.
Levels
Every session page carries one of these so you can self-select. Be honest; it saves you money.
Expansion roadmap
Roughly in priority order. One is added per year, and each is proven as a two-day Field Day before it becomes a week. None of these can be booked, and none has a date.
Session 04
MIG and stick welding, plasma cutting, and basic blacksmithing.
Session 05
Tractor and excavator operation, PTO and implements, hydraulics, grading, drain tile, erosion control, and road building.
Session 06
Chainsaw felling and directional falling, sharpening, bucking, portable milling, and timber framing with mortise and tenon.
Session 07
Orchard establishment, grafting and pruning, soil and drainage remediation, cover crops, raised beds, hoop house construction, and mushroom cultivation on logs.
Session 08
Coop construction and predator-proofing, beekeeping fundamentals and hive assembly, poultry and rabbit butchering, and basic cuts.
Session 09
Water bath and pressure canning, smoking and curing, root cellar construction, dehydrating, and maple syrup in March.
Session 10
Small engine repair, carburetors, chainsaw maintenance, basic auto work, appliance diagnosis, weatherization, tile, and screens.
Session 11
Where the well goes relative to the septic, how the solar feeds the pump, how the drive handles a fire truck, and how the pieces sequence over five years.
Session 12
For someone who just bought raw land. Site assessment, access, setbacks, zoning, perc testing, temporary shelter, power and water staging, what to do first and what to never do first.
