Rocket-building day
Each family brings its own Estes kit that requires assembly, along with the instructions. Kits can come from HobbyTown or online. Families may work on different models, so keep the kit’s parts together and follow its own sequence.
Matt provides shared paint, sandpaper, and glue. Painting depends on the kit and drying time. The final event guidance will cover any additional supplies and how to take an unfinished or drying project home.
For outdoor projects
The event-specific list will follow the final plan. Useful basics include weather-appropriate layers, footwear suited to the location, a water bottle, and clothing that can get messy. Families should check what their children can comfortably wear and use throughout the activity.
Parents attend and actively participate with their children. Plan to help with setup and cleanup as well as the project itself.
Launch and ski equipment
Launch-day motors, launch equipment, and other shared supplies still need to be arranged. Wait for the final equipment guidance rather than assuming that everything comes in the rocket kit.
For skiing, tickets, rentals, lessons, transport, and costs remain open. The trip plan will reflect the group’s experience and equipment needs.
