Field Days
Saturday and Sunday on the property, ten to twelve people, one piece of a real system built start to finish. You sleep in town. $650.
What a Field Day is
A Field Day takes one slice of a full curriculum session and does it properly in a weekend. Not a sampler and not a demonstration: you still build something permanent, and you still leave with a plan for your own property. It is simply two days of work instead of five.

Why this format comes first
Housing people for a week takes a septic system, potable water, and permitted lodging. A day program takes none of those, which means Field Days can run well while the property is still being built. It also means you can find out whether this is worth your time for $650 and a weekend, instead of a week.
Most people who book an Axe Week will have done a Field Day first. That is the intended order.
How the two days run

Times are the working plan and will be confirmed with each date.
What’s on site
Be clear-eyed about this: a Field Day runs on a working property, not a facility.
- Toilets: portable units serviced by a licensed hauler, with a handwashing station.
- Water: potable drinking water is hauled in and supplied. Bring a bottle.
- Shelter: a shade and rain structure for instruction and lunch.
- Power: what we’ve built. On a Power Field Day, that’s the point.
Where you stay
Sault Ste. Marie is 20 minutes away and has the full range of motels and hotels. Brimley is closer and has fewer options. See getting here for the lodging list and directions.
What’s included
Instruction, all build materials, tools and safety equipment, lunch both days, and your take-home plan. Not included: travel, lodging, breakfast, and dinner. See pricing for the terms.

No dates are published yet. The first Field Days are planned for summer 2027 and will be offered to the waitlist first, at a founding rate.
